released January 1, 1998

"This record is "soundcards" (like postcards) that I have brought back from my trip in Chile between the 13th of February and the 13th of March 1998. All the sounds come from natural sounds that I have recorded (special thanks to Solange Duhart, Federico Elton, Roberto and Alexandra Edwards) on/and from the exceptional pre-columbian musical instruments collection of the Museo Precolombino of Santiago de Chile. I would like to thank here Carlos Aldunate, Jose Perez de Arce and Claudio Mercado for their support and help. The voices that can be heard are from Rosa Yagan, the last yagan woman it Chile, Tsogt Tsede, a mongol singer, La Picasso, a woman living in Lago Ranco and Oona Matta, my daughter.

The treatments of the sounds were made with programs like: Hyperprism, GRNI Tool, MetaSynth, SoundHack and a specially made program called GrooveMachine® made by Marc Battier.
The mixing was made with ProTool. All this on PowerMaclntosh computers.
The sound design and processing were mostly made by Samon Takahashi while I was composing and mixing them in a way that could "make sense".

This music was first commissioned for the Chilean Pavilion of the World Exhibit of Lisboa, EXPO98. The architects are Mr Borja Huidobro and Mr Roberto Benavente."
